These Itchy Feet

I officially have a wanderlust like never before, so of course I am going to tell you guys all about it...

I have always been incredibly lucky to have travelling to some extent as part of my life. From amazing summer holidays with my Mum and Dad as a child, to now as a big part of my work. But recently I have been craving it more than ever! I am such a home bird at heart, and for years I have always preferred to be settled at home with as much of a routine as I can manage. But recently I can't sit still for more than a couple of  weeks. Don't get me wrong, I am still always so glad to get back home and spend time here, but I can't help but think about the next trip.

I think a lot of it comes down to the fact I have really found the way I want travel to work for my blog. To be able to travel with your work is an incredible privilege, and one I always want to make the most of. Perhaps one of the best things about blogging is the fact you can work from anywhere in the world, and the last thing I want to do is to look back in years to come and feel like I didn't make the most of that opportunity in my 20s. For ages I found travel content really hard. So much of it is based around press trips, which are amazing, but can sometimes be tricky to get the best content from. It made me feel like travel didn't sit well with my blog because I never felt like I was sharing content you could really engage with, or that I really loved.

Over this Summer, I have been so fortunate with the amount of travel I have been able to do. And it's made me realise that the best trips are the ones I pay for myself. Ones where I can be free to create the content I want, take some sponsored work out there with me to make it viable for my business, but really get to explore the destinations on my own terms and then share that all with you guys.

That's exactly what this trip to New York was all about, and the content I have to share is some of my favourite ever. I pinch myself endlessly when I am in incredible cities doing my work, creating something I love and getting to read all your feedback too. It's the way I want to continue to incorporate travel into my blog and YouTube, and I really hope that I get to do it more and more and that you are all enjoying it. While Summer is definitely at it's end I am already planning what cities I could travel to this Winter to work from, and for the first time in my life (as I said, massive home bird over here), I am really tempted by the idea of going to live in another country for a month. I think it's in part down to the confidence that living alone as given me so far, that I am capable of doing things by myself even if I do need to ring my Mum to ask 2821018 questions along the way.

Also lets just all take a moment to imagine some blog posts in beautiful cities wrapped up in Winter outfits that are a little more interesting than this one. It's that time of year where, like clockwork, I hate my own wardrobe and the new season isn't quite in full swing in stores. I am resorting to jeans and a t-shirt, and when they fit as good as this that isn't really too much of a problem, but I do promise to send some A/W styling your way very soon! And maybe that will be the perfect excuse I need to book a trip somewhere beautiful to shoot it.
