So Many Styling Tips

This post is sponsored by Collect Plus. Photos by Tim Johnston.

This is going to be my last post until after Christmas so I thought I would make it a big'un. Filled with lots of photos and even more styling tips. Almost a month ago I spent the day shooting with Collect Plus on a very exciting project! We filmed five videos covering lots of styling ideas, from how to style over the knee boots and culottes, to party outfit ideas and a run down of the best basics. Two of the videos are out already (both included in this post), and there are three more to come which I will share on my Twitter when they all go live, and you can subscribe to their YouTube channel here. The images in this post are all of my favourite looks - but did shoot a grand total of 15 in total so there are loadssss more for you to see. All of the items are available online through retailers that offer Collect Plus as a delivery service. I am sure many of you are familiar with it already, but it essentially means you can have your online orders delivered to a shop near you. It means you don't have to worry about being in, and they are also open way more flexible hours so you can pop by after work to collect your order. My local Spar now know me by name, I have collected far more ASOS parcel's from there than I would care to admit.

So, armed with five categories, a rail jam packed with clothes, we were ready to go. I wanted to share with you all the simple tips to make minimal outfits look and feel 100x more interesting, ways to dip out of your comfort zone a little bit (i.e me wearing a skirt), and a huge round up of some of my favourite pieces on the high street at the moment. I hope you guys enjoy this monster post, whether you are reading it on Friday or Christmas Day, there is certainly a lot to scroll through here.

One of the topics I was most excited about was how to style over the knee boots. I love them so much but they can be a tricky one to feel looking classy. But, once you've got them right, they are so versatile. I wear mine day and night, and the pairs I have are amongst the comfiest pairs of heels I own. Armed with some skinny jeans and the right length dress (I think showing just a slither of thigh is actually the sexiest way to style over the knee boots) and you are ready to wear your fave boots for countless occassions. The particular pair I have are from Ted & Muffy, I have had them for years now and still wear them every year! Generally I keep an eye out for boots with a block heel, and no platform - I think it helps to keep them looking and feeling as sophisticated as possible.

Party dressing can be a tricky one, and is more relevant than ever for this time of year. What makes it even trickier is just how many options are out there - I for one find it so overwhelming to wade through the masses of body-con to something that will actually flatter my figure! I am also on the lookout for items I can wear again. I have said before that I am not a fan of buying something I can only wear once - which is often why I am such a fan of suits as they are really versatile in the long run. Lots of the pieces in the video for the Party Looks you will also see in the other four videos, just to make sure you can style them up with something a little different and wear them again after the party season is over. And if in doubt, just go for a fancy new pair of shoes and style them with pieces you have already - shoes and accessories can inject new life into old pieces!

In the meantime, have an amazing Christmas everyone. I will be back with my next post on Wednesday, very much looking forward to a long weekend full of food!

Merry Christmas, xxx
