LFW Day 2 Outfit

So I wore this outfit on Saturday, the day before I did a video on how not to wear denim quite so much... clearly I am listening to my own advice very well. This outfit came about from two things; a bad mood, and this denim trench.

I had planned to wear my new and gorgeous Toteme trousers for fashion week, but when the day came I was in a massive grump and did not feel up to wearing something that wasn't denim, my ultimate pick-me-up item! And thankfully I had the ultimate denim item.. this incredible coat from Nanushka.

Until now I have never really liked the double denim look, it always feels like wayyyy too much blue and feels so casual no matter what I do to dress it up. This coat is changing all of that too me, and I can't quite put my finger on why. It's definitely partly down to what a gorgeous piece it is, worn without or without a denim bottom half. It's pretty thick, especially around the shoulders giving it a just the right amount of structure, and stopping it from looking too slouchy, I also love how it has a few belts and buttons here and there, but not too many. Trench coats can often be too minimal and basic, or too fussy for the sake of adding on unnecessary hard wear.

The rest of my outfit is full of pieces you guys know well already; my La Redoute cashmere knit that still reigns supreme as my favourite cashmere jumper. These old Levi's 501s, and my croc Dear Frances spirit boots which are the perfect shade for all the blue going on here.

All in all a pretty lazy look, considering it was for fashion week too, but it did make me feel 100000x better on the day, which certainly makes the whole thing worthwhile in my books.
