IT'S COOOLLLDDDD

Guys, It's cold, if you didn't know. I love Winter dressing but not when it's SO COLD that I have no option other than to be very practical and wrapped up. As it's a situation we are all in together (instantly got High School Musical in my head when I wrote that and now I hate myself) I thought I would share with you my very practical winter look. Let's start from the top down:

The hat. Obvs essential, keeps the heat in nicely. This one is from COS and I love the dusty pink shade. And if I do say so myself, I think it looks pretty nice with my hair colour.

Knits: I have two on here. A skinny turtleneck, also from COS, Then a longer knit from Fillipa K - I think either two skinny ones or one chunky one are the most sensible choices. I went out in just a t-shirt the other day do not recommend, I have gone from being a genius to an idiot.

Coat: as padded as possible. This one is both soft AND padded so is a bit like going out on a sqiuishy blanket, which is a huge compliment to the coat.

Jeans: easy and warm. The only issue I have is my love for cropped denim can sometimes outweigh my love for warm ankles - bare ankles are a necessary hardship for me this time of year.

Shoes: BUT one way to combat that is some tall boots. These Kurt Geiger babies (that I luurrveeee) fit the bill perfectly. They also have a very practical sole to them so if it's a bit slippy they are as good as a pair of heels on ice can possibly be. I wear thick socks under mine to be extra sensible.

I do, sadly, think this is a boring look. I mean I felt relatively nice in it, but also very practical and not in the best way. Aside from donning gorgeous faux fur jackets, I often flounder at how to make super warm looks also look really nice. And while I love my faux fur, I do sometimes want to go for something a bit more understated. So this is what we ended up with!
